What’s a juice cleanse?
Juice cleanses are used to get the glow back, to be re-inspired, have energy levels you never knew possible, lose weight, and really jump start a healthy lifestyle. When doing a juice cleanse you replace your standard diet with nutrient rich cold-pressed organic juices for a short period of time (usually 3-7 days).
Specifically with Love Grace we offer four 16-oz cold-pressed juices, one 16oz super food smoothie, and one 4oz Ginger bomb (a little fiery healing elixir) for a total of 6 nutrient dense items a day.
Fasting has been used for centuries for healing, spiritual practices and longevity. On a Love Grace Juice Cleanse the body can expel built up toxins while simultaneously absorbing vital (often missing) nutrients.
Why should I juice cleanse?
Just a few awesome things about juice cleansing:
- When you refrain from eating food your body has all the energy that it usually uses for digesting food to go to healing specific conditions. (our body is awesome at healing, we just rarely give it the resources and time to do so).
- The body is able to enter a state of autolysis where weak or damaged cells are metabolized, thus aiding the “youthing” process.
- Opportunity to abstain from less than ideal foods and overcome negative habits.
- The chlorophyl rich juices can bind to toxins such as heavy metals, radiation, and free-radicals and safely move them out.
- Mental clarity, energy, focus and glowing skin are an awesome bonus.
- Alkalinity is a major benefit as disease cannot breed in an alkaline environment. Juice cleansing can provide these alkaline minerals/electrolytes.
- Cleansing helps the body shed excess weight. Our clients have often lost anywhere from 5-20 lbs juice cleansing as a result of both lower caloric intake and alkalinity.
- The weight is often kept off because during the cleanse you are receiving a full spectrum of phytonutrients and minerals and actually flooding your system with nutrients it doesn’t usually receive. Cleansing also creates a fresh start to continue with a healthy vibrant diet and lifestyle.
How long should I cleanse for?
We generally recommend 3-5 day cleanses to start. In our experience when cleansing for 5-7 days you start to see deep results. The first 3 days your system has a chance to rest and cleanse. By days 4 – 7 you really go to healing, rebuilding and remineralizing and experiencing a real transformation in energy levels, vibrancy, weight, and glow to name a few. Of course it is important to listen to your body and also what works for your schedule.
How do I prepare for a juice cleanse?
Start increasing the amount of raw vegetables in your diet. Two days before you begin its best to leave meat, dairy and heavy processed foods out of your diet such as breads and pasta. If you drink caffeine it is wise to start weening yourself off a few days prior to cleansing and replacing caffeine with decaf and eventually enjoying herbal teas.
I’m very active can I still juice cleanse?
Juice is indeed a superfood. It can nourish and support you in your every day busy life. Listen to your body when you juice cleanse. If you discover you need a little something more then prepare a raw salad, have some fruit or enjoy some items in the recommended snack section below. Make it work for YOU!
Will I lose weight?
Every body is different so we can’t guarantee but we can say that if you have weight to lose then you will most likely lose weight and enjoy the results. Between the lower caloric intake and the alkalinity you are creating in your body, weight will naturally come off. Many cleansers experience losing 5-20 lbs.
Can I cleanse if I’m pregnant?
Not an appropriate time for cleansing but a great time to incorporate live mineral rich green juices and superfood smoothies into your diet. Super baby!

Is there a specific order to drink the juices?
We have a recommendation for the order of juices. The good news is you can’t mess this up. So if you have them out of order it’s OK!

Is there a certain time I drink the juices?
Even though each person’s schedule will vary we recommend having a juice about every 2 hours. Reach for a juice anytime you would reach for food.
Can I drink water?
Yes, please do! We recommend drinking a few liters (64oz) of water daily through out the cleanse. It helps to flush out toxins. A hydrated person is a happy person.
Can I drink coffee?
We recommend weening off coffee a few days before you plan to start. Start substituting with decaf and then tea and ultimately get to herbal tea! Caffeine is irritating and has an inflammatory effect on the body. We want to heal the body during this time.
Can I drink tea?
Yes! Herbal tea is great. Try Chamomile or Peppermint. Avoiding caffeine is recommended. This is a time for resting and repair, caffeine can be inflammatory and irritating.
Is smoking allowed?
You’re investing in your health here. Breathing in fresh clean air and avoiding toxins is always best, especially during your juice cleanse. This is the way to create healthy and happy habits.
What if I’m hungry?
Have another item on your cleanse. Have a big glass of water with lemon and a pinch of pink himilayan sea salt. Although most cleansers find the juices satisfying, for those new to cleansing or extremely active it is fine to have some fruit or one healthy meal a day. Try to keep it all raw with a fresh organic green salad with avocado. Steamed greens and whole grains will also be ok.
What are some good snack recommendations?
Banana with or without almond butter
Blended raw veggie soup
Organic fruit smoothie with almond milk
Handful of almonds
An avocado with a pinch of himlayan sea salt
How long are the juices good for?
Once bottled our juices last 40 days by using an innovative technology called High Pressure Processing. This allows the juice to maintain their high nutritional profile, keeping them nutrient dense and vibrant while simultaneously extending the days it stays fresh! This non-thermal technology applies tons of external equalized cold-water pressure on our sealed bottles destroying harmful pathogens inside that cause spoilage. They just can’t handle the pressure. Cold-pressed juices have now evolved with this technology and the 3-day life-span is no longer a limiting factor.
Do I have to drink all of them in one day?
If its too much juice and you do not finish everything in one day, it’s ok! You’ll have bonus juices while you’re transitioning off your cleanse.
How do they taste? Be honest.
Most of our customers tell us Love Grace has the best tasting juices they’ve ever had. Our flavors were conceived of by experienced chefs with the intention of being highly nutritious, healing, and delicious. Some people new to juicing may need to adjust to the veggie flavors. We tell those unaccustomed to juicing to make sure they are cold and drink them slowly to allow their pallets to adjust.
What do I do after the cleanse?
Many people jump into one of our maintenance or subscription programs to sustain their results and keep their energy up. We feel at least one green juice per day should be a god given right!
Will I be tired?
Most of our cleansers find they have an increase of energy. Its common to fall asleep peacefully at night and wake up with renewed liveliness. If you do feel sleepy then we suggest taking a nap, meditating, or just having some quite time. Again this is a time for you, so feel free to pamper yourself.
Will I have to run to the bathroom?
Although no two bodies are the same in our experience, Love Grace is a gentle cleanse and does not have laxative like effects, although it is great at moving blockages in the digestive tract. You are drinking a lot of liquid so be yes you will have to release that.
Do the juices have to stay cold?
Yes. Cold-pressed organic juices are not cooked or heat pasteurized and to keep them vibrant and delicious please keep them either refrigerated (ideally) or in an insulated bag with ice packs throughout your cleanse day.
